CORFU. 12 Covid-19 patients are hospitalised in the Hospital Special Infectious Diseases Unit today (7/11) - 5 of them are elderly women from Ioannina.
Today, Saturday 7 November, the Special Infectious Disease Unit at Corfu Hospital is half full.
The Unit has 25 beds and at the moment there are 12 Covid-19 patients hospitalissed there. The latest two patients are a man and a woman who were admitted yesterday.
There is also an ICU at the hospital with 4 beds, which are empty at the moment.
The last patient to be hospitalised in the ICU was the North Corfu priest who passed away on Friday 6 November.
Corfu General Hospital is also acting as a 'release valve' to to relieve the pressure from public hospitals in Ioannina due to the increase in the number of cases.
Already, of the 12 patients in the Corfu Infectious Diseases Unit, 5 are elderly women from the care home in Ioannina.
