Extensive damage in Samos from the earthquake

SAMOS. Church in Karlovasi collapses - damage to buildings - Akis Tselentes: "An aftershock of over 6 Richter could follow".
Development Minister Adonis Giorgiades announced in Parliament that there was extensive damage to buildings following the 6.6 Richter earthquake in Samos.
According to initial information, there has been damage to buildings and the Panayia Theotokou church in Karlovasa collapsed.
Approximately one hour after the earthquake the President of the Earthquake Planning & Protection Organisation (OASP) Professor Efthimis Lekkas as people on Samos not to go back into their houses, to be extremely careful and wait patiently.
According to the President of the Geodynamic Institute Akis Tselentis, there is a possibility that an aftershock of over 6 Richter could follow.
Just after 14:00 the magnitude of the earthquake was reassessed as 6.9 Richter.
At 14:15 the Civil Protection Ministry sent a message via 112 to the residents of Samos and surrounding islands advising them to stay away from the coast as there was a risk of large waves.
