Dolphin battling for its life after being washed ashore

CORFU. A dolphin which was washed ashore at Loggas beach in Corfu is battling for its life.
Paleokastritsa Port Authority contacted ARION Environmental Organisation on Sunday evening to tell them of a dolphin that, despite repeated efforts to put it back into the sea, kept being washed ashore.
Despite the efforts to put it back into the water, the dolphin kept being washed ashore. The ARION Corfu network vet Anastasia Koronaki went there and, along with Dr. Komninou and Dr. Emilia Drouga assessed the condition of the dolphin's health. From the photos sent by the Port Authority, it can be seen that it is an adult female striped dolphin with several abrasions.
It has abrasions and its behaviour, according to ARION, indicates that it has a neurological problem. The environmental group is calling on members of the public to keep their distance from the dolphin and not to make any noise.
The group also thanks Paleokastritsa Port Authority for its support in its efforts to save the creature.
