No visitors allowed at Corfu Hospital from today

CORFU. New Ministry of Health regulations in force from 3 August - no visitors, excorts only with written permission and visits to Out-Patient department only by appointment.

There are new Ministry of Health regulations in force at Corfu Hospital from 3 August to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

According to the press release issued by the hospital, visits are now prohibited at all times.

Entrances to the clinics will remain closed 24 hours a day.

Each patient is strictly limited to one escort with written permission if the responsible doctor considers it necessary. Escorts of patients who have any symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection (fever, low-grade fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose).

Patients can only be seen at the Out-Patients Department by phone appointment at the numbers 26610 30062 and 26613 60873. Masks must be worn for appointments.

Pre-operational checks for Sars-CoV2 on patients being transferred to hospitals off the island will be carried out Monday to Friday 10:00-11:00 at the special iso-box next to the Emergency Department.

Members of the public are requested to turn up at the designated time.

Swabbing for COVID-19 will be carried out according to EODY guidelines and the evaluation of the doctor and not on all those who come to the hospital.

Members of the public are asked to do as told and advised by hospital personnel.

We must stay calm and adhere to all the hygiene and health regulations - handwashing, wearing a mask where required and social distancing.
