Nikos Hardalias to visit 18 airports that are reopening - Corfu tomorrow

ATHENS. Over the next four days Civil Protection Deputy Minister Nikos Hardalias will be visiting 18 airports that are reopening for international flights on 1 July.

The 18 regional airports will be reopening to international flights on 1 July and Nikos Hardalias will visit each of them over the next four days.

The aim of the visits is to coordinate all the procedures with the local administrations to ensure that everything is safe for the  recommencement of operations.

The Deputy Minister will also meet with all the bodies involved (CAA, Airport Administration, Armed Forces, Police and Fire Department) to facilitate the proper implementation of the measures and safety protocols at the airports and will also meet with representatives from the local authorities.

The Civil Protection General Secretariat will have overall responsibility for the airports that open on 1 July. There will be health teams along with Armed Forces personnel supervised by the Civil Protection Ministry in collaboration with the Fire Department and the Police. There will also be collaboration with the Hellenic National Defence General Staff to conduct COVID-19 sample testing for international arrivals.

Friday 26 June
08:30 - Zakynthos
10:15 - Cephalonia
12:15 - Corfu
15:00 - Ioannina
18:00 - Kalamata

Saturday 27 June
10:00 - Kythira
12:00 - Chania
16:30 - Heraklion

Sunday 28 June
08:00 - Karpathos
09:45 - Rhodes
13:00 - Kos
15:15 - Samos
17:30 - Chios
19:15 - Mytilene

Monday 29 June
08:00 - Limnos
10:00 - Kavala
12:00 - Skiathos
15:45 - Skyros


Civil Protection General Secretary Vassilis Papagiorgiou is expected to visit the remaining 6 airports that reopen for international flights on 1 July on Sunday 28th and Monday 29th - Patras Araxos, Aktion, Volos Anchialos, Mykonos, Paros and Santorini.
