CORFU. Corfu is taking part tonight in the symbolic protest from catering businesses across Europe and locals have filled the most popular spot on the island with empty chairs and tables.
Corfu's iconic landmark Liston was filled with empty chairs this evening, Wednesday 6 May, as part of the silent protest across Europe from catering businesses and professionals.
Corfu and other parts of Greece are taking part simultaneously - beginning at 20:00 - in the European protest from catering businesses who are 'crying out' for help for the 'next day' and to deal with the consequences of the coronavirus health crisis.
In Corfu the protest is being organised by Corfu Gastronomy Association and in Greece as a whole by the Panhellenic Federation of Restaurant & Related Professions (POESE).
