CORFU. The service, which is the equivalent of the national 1135 line, will take the pressure off the central line. Over 10 private doctors have volunteered for the Association΄s initiative.
A voluntary team of doctors has been set up comprising members of Corfu Medical Association who will answer the public's questions and give advice.
The service provided will be like that of the national 1135 line and aims to take the pressure off the central call centre. Over ten Corfu private doctors responded to the Medical Association's call for volunteers and have made themselves available for this initiative.
The idea was put forward by Mayor Meropi Ydraiou at Sunday's meeting at Faliraki and the Medical Association board picked up on it immediately.
The phone number that the public can call is expected to be announced on Wednesday. The initial idea is that volunteers will answer the calls and then put the callers in touch with the doctors on duty.
