Announcement in Government Gazette - Entry ban for travellers from Italy, Albania and North Macedonia

Only freight vehicles allowed.
Yesterday the Government Gazette published the common Ministerial Decision from the Health, Maritime and Transport Ministeries imposing temporary international travel restrictions including recreational vessels in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Article 1
The following has been decided:
1. The temporary restriction of all air, sea, train and road connections with Albania as a precautionary measure to protect public health from the further spread of coronavirus in Greece and an entry ban on travellers to Greece from Albania. The ban does not include:
a) Greek citizens, those in possession of a Special Homogenous Identity Card, those with a resident's permit and those whose main abode is in Greece or who usually reside there.
b) Vehicles transporting goods.
2. The temporary restriction of all air, sea, train and road connections with North Macedonia as a precautionary measure to protect public health from the further spread of coronavirus in Greece and an entry ban on travellers to Greece from North Macedonia. The ban does not include:
a) Greek citizens, those in possession of a Special Homogenous Identity Card, those with a resident's permit and those whose main abode is in Greece or who usually reside there.
b) Vehicles transporting goods.
3. The temporary restriction of all air, sea, train and road connections with Italy, including private recreational sailing vessels as a precautionary measure to protect public health from the further spread of coronavirus in Greece. The temporary restrictions by sea do not include vehicles transporting goods.
4. The temporary restriction of all air connections with Spain as a precautionary measure to protect public health from the further spread of coronavirus in Greece.
5. The temporary restriction of all commercial recreational vessels (such as cruise ships and recreational day trips) at Greek ports and any disembarkation of passengers from these vessels as a precautionary measure to protect public health from the further spread of coronavirus in Greece.
6. The above bans will be in force from 15:00 on 15/3/2020 until 15:00 on 15/4/2020.
Article 2
1. In all cases, for persons coming from the countries mentioned in Article 1 who are exempted, it is possible to implement paragraphs 2, 3 and 5 from Article 2 of the 25/2/2020 law.
2. This decision does not restrict the implementation of the repatriation programme for Greeks living in the above countries.
