CORFU. Gesture of gratitude for the superhuman efforts being made by those working in Greek hospitals.

The initiative was proposed by the Prime Minister's wife Mareva Grabowski - to applaud and hearten those working in Greek hospitals. On Twitter Kyriakos Mitsotakis' wife called upon everyone to applaud all together at 21:00 on Sunday 15 March as a gesture of gratitude and to boost morale.

"Let's all go out on our balconies and clap to thank the efforts being made by medical and nursing staff at the Greek hospitals who are making superhuman efforts and great sacrifices to fight against coronavirus."

There were different views on the initiative but, nevertheless, people in many parts of Corfu came out to clap at 9pm on Sunday night  - showing their gratitude to those working without sleep at our hospitals in such difficult conditions.
