CORFU. Corfu General Hospital conducted a Customer Satisfaction Survey.

The survey was carried out to determine the level of satisfaction with the services provided by Health Units, given the frequent discussions in the media and in society as a whole, to see if patients at Corfu General Hospital were satisfied with its services.

The standard Ministry of Health survey form for out-patients for the period 1/1 - 30/6/19 was used. These forms can be filled in anonymously and have been in use at the hospital since 2017; they are located at various points throughout the hospital and collected in special boxes. It is probably the most important tool the administration has to be able to identify the hospital's weak points in relation to patients' needs and to take corrective measures where needed.

The survey was mainly regarding the Emergency Department, where significant work has been carried out to upgrade and improve services (application of screening system with trained personnel, separation of clinics for surgical and pathology departments, increase in number of beds for short-term hospitalisation, significant increase in medical and nursing personnel, autonomous surgeries in the department etc.).

In general terms, the survey showed satisfaction with the services provided at Corfu General Hospital. Nevertheless, the hospital aims to carry out ongoing evaluation and take necessary corrective action to improve the quality of services.

A full presentation and analysis of the survey results will be given at the 4th Nursing Seminar 11-12 October.
