"Kaleidoscope" Group Exhibition: 17 Greek artists at the Attic Gallery

CORFU. The Attic Gallery by ICON is hosting a group exhibition - opening on Saturday 13 July at 20:00.
The exhibition features 17 artists from around Greece and aims to present a literal kaleidoscope of art and artists that reflects the many faces of Greek reality.
The featured artists are all currently active, drawn from across the country and representing a broad age-range. This exhibition includes romance, nostalgia, and beauty; there is also darkness, melancholy, and challenge. There is a rejoicing in the natural elements and there are philosophical visual commentaries.
Some artists reach to the past; others imagine a dystopian, or an Edenic future. Urban grit and decay sits alongside open fields and turbulent seas. Mythical references are never far away, and the strong surrealist tradition running through modern Greek art makes its presence felt. Materials and surfaces range from the traditional to the experimental, with coffee grounds, wooden lasts, and rice paper miniatures standing alongside vast dreamscapes and pointillist illustrations.
