CORFU. A large part of Corfu Town suffered a power cut at midnight on Tuesday which lasted for a few hours.
The blackout lasted for about three hours and affected Garitsa, Alexandras Avenue, San Rocco, Platytera, Lofo Koyevina and Koulines.
DEDDIE Director Nikos Sofianos told Enimerosi that the power cut was due to damage to two separate underground cables in Garitsa and Platytera. Mr Sofianos said that it was unusual for two separate underground cables to suffer damage at the same time but repairs were carried out and power was restored within a few hours.
DEDDIE crews will be working today and tomorrow to deal with some technical issues.
