Corfu Mountain Trail 2019 in May - internationally recognized runners taking part

CORFU. The 8th Corfu Mountain Trail will take place on the weekend of 4-5 May this year - at the beginning of the tourist season and one week after Easter.
There will be several international runners in this year's Corfu Mountain Trail - from France, Italy, UK, Lithuania, Canada, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and other countries. The Trail will take place on 4 and 5 May this year and amongst the runners will be the Lithuanian Gediminas Grinius, winner of the Ultra World Tour series, and the Italian ultramarathon runner Marco Olmo, two times UTMB winner.
Corfu Mountain Trail Ultra - 110km
Saturday 4 May
The race sets off from the village of Ipsos and leads up to the highest mountain peak on the island Mt Pantokrator, passing through traditional villages in northern Corfu such as Old Perithia, Petaleia, Perithia, Klimatia, Lakones and Palaiokastritsa. Going downhill it passes along the west coast near to the beaches of Liapades, Myrtiotissa, Glyfada and Kontogialo along paths with spectacular views of the Adriatic Sea. At Agii Deka it will meet the 20km mark of the 40km race and together they will continue to Messonghi and finish at Messonghi Beach Holiday Resort - major sponsor of the 2019 event.
The Corfu Mountain Trail Ultra sets off from Ipsos at 06:00 on Saturday 4 May. The length is 110km and elevation is 5000+. The International Trail-Running Association (ITRA) requires at least 104km in order to award 5 participation points to runners for the 2019 Championship.
There are 4 courses:
Corfu Mountain Trail Ultra - 110km / 5000+
Quick Trail - 10km
Olive Tree Trail - 20km / 1200+
Rain Trail - 40km / 2200+
In order to participate in the Corfu Mountain Trail Ultra runners must have completed a 40km mountain trail in up to 8 hours in the last two years.
The course has been certified by ITRA who will award UTMB qualifying points - 5 for the 110km race and 2 for the 40km race.

Rain Trail - 40km: 30€
Runners who take part in Saturday's races will get a free bib with number for Sunday's races.
