CORFU. Students have reported that there was flooding in the university following Tuesday΄s rainfall.

According the complaint that they have lodged: "The worst conditions were in the hall of residence where the corridors were full of water, making the rooms inaccessible and uninhabitable.

The student societies from the Departments of Informatics and Archives, Library Science and Museology are lodging a complaint against the Student Welfare Services and the Governing Council for this unacceptable situation. Let's not forget that students are made to leave their rooms at Christmas, Easter and in the summer so that maintenance can supposedly be carried out."

The student associations organized a meeting on Tuesday night to demand an immediate solution.

Stuedents are demanding: "Those in charge of Student Welfare Services must provide rooms for students with safe and secure living conditions. There is no excuse for a situation like this after the first rainfall and we are concerned about what will happen in the coming winter. We had given warnings about the conditions in the hall of residence and they proved to be correct. We are living in the 21st century and consider it unacceptable to have to be talking about something like this."
