CORFU. The administration filed a second lawsuit for assault and stressed that it will do the same for any other cases of assault against hospital personnel.

The hospital issued the following press release:

"We would like to stress yet again that the hospital administration is determined not to allow violence against members of its staff to go unpunished. Following the official inquiry and acting on its findings a lawsuit has been filed regarding an incident in the hospital on 9 August 2018 when a relative of a patient reportedly attacked a radiologist because the CT scanner happened to be out of order that day. This is the second lawsuit we have filed this year and we can state categorically that we will continue to do the same if there is evidence of any case of assault against members of the hospital staff at their place of work."

Extract from the lawsuit:

Specifically, on 9/8/2018 at approximately 09:00 the escort of the patient ___ who had an appointment at Corfu General Hospital to undergo a CT scan burst into the radiology lab in and in a threatening manner, verbally assaulted and attacked the doctor ... demanding that the scan be carried out on his wife (even though the equipment was out of order). The unknown person created a serious incident in front of several patients and nursing staff, assaulted the doctor and seriously disturbing the lab's operations - leaving only when the police intervened.

As the above actions - disturbing the peace and bodily harm - are against the law I arraign the unknown perpetrator for disturbing the peace and causing bodily harm and request his arrest and punishment.
