New flights to Corfu, Cephalonia and Aktion in the 2019 season.
Ryanair has, so far, added eight new flights per week which will commence in April.
New flights to Corfu from London Southend, Bologna and Liverpool (6 flights) have already been announced and yesterday two more flights per week (Wednesday and Saturday) from Berlin Tegel to Cephalonia from 3 April to 26 October were also announced.
All of the above flights are effectively helping to extend the tourist season to seven months and at the same time allowing local residents and others to travel abroad at lower prices.
According to a statement from the Ionian Islands Regional Administration, as part of the Region's collaboration with British Airways there are now two new connections per week with Aktion from London Heathrow from 29 May to 29 September (Wednesday and Sunday).
This will help compensate for the reduction in seats from the UK which came as a result of the cessation of Monarch Airlines flights in 2017.
Condor also announced that there will be a new weekly conection (every Tuesday) between Hanover and Aktion from 21 May to 8 October.
The Deputy Regional Governor for Tourism Spyros Galiatsatos said: "This news affirms our belief that we will have an even better tourist season in 2019, quantity and quality-wise, and reward the Region's efforts to penetrate the German market."
