Coroner΄s statement.

Corfu General Hospital administration has issued a statement declaring that the death of the 37-year-old British tourist in August 2017 was not due to food poisoning. The British press had said that she had suffered food poisoning as a result of eating uncooked chicken at a Corfu hotel.

Attached to the statement from the administration of Corfu General Hospital is the coroner's statement, which dismisses the idea that food poisoning was the cause of death.

"With regard to the article in the British newspaper Daily Mail, which was taken from various Greek media sources, Corfu General Hospital would like to stress that the article claims that death was caused by complications from a specific strain, but this specific strain is not confirmed by the forensic examination which was conducted. On the contrary, a different microbial strain was the cause of death.

We have attached the Corfu General Hospital coroner's report."
