Meeting of the Ioannis Kapodistrias Network today under the presidency of Corfu

CORFU. Under discussion are the extension of the Network and promotion of the works of the First Governor.
The General Assembly of the Kapodistrias Network at the Old Town Hall coincides with the assumption of the Network Presidency by Corfu for 2018-19. The meeting will discuss the extension of the Network to include other municipalities and the promotion of the First Governor's works.
Corfu has assumed the Presidency of the Kapodistrias Network - a network of municipalities which are associated with the late governor - following the decision of the General Assembly held in Aegina in January 2018 as part of the Municipality's celebratory events for the anniversary of the Governor's visit to the island and taking of the oath.
The Network comprises the following municipalities - Corfu, Nafplion, Aegina, Famagusta (Cyprus) and Koper-Capodistria (Slovenia).
The activities of the Kapodistrias Network are held under the auspices of UNESCO, which recognizes that cooperation between the towns associated with Ioannis Kapodistrias reinforces the intercultural dialogue and development prospects of each municipality and furthers education and youth.
