OKANA to move from the old Psychiatric Hospital in the next few days

CORFU. The President of OKANA (Organisation Against Drugs), Evaggelos Kafetzopoulos, said that the organization, as promised, will be moving the Corfu branch of OKANA to a more suitable location near Corfu General Hospital.

During the seminar 'OKANA and the Ionian University: Areas of cooperation and research activities' at the Ionian Academy on Wednesday 9th May, co-organized by OKANA and the University, the OKANA President, Evaggelos Kafetzopoulos, reiterated the organization's committment to moving the facility to a more suitable location near to Corfu General Hospital.

He said that it was a matter of days for the move - which the University has been requesting over the last ten years - to go ahead.

OKANA is sensitive and responsive to the needs of the local community in Corfu and has had a fruitful research collaboration with the University over the last year. The President mentioned that although the cooperation agreement has only recently been signed, the University has carried out specific programmes with tangible results within the strategic goals of OKANA.

The Dean of the Ionian University, Vassilis Chrisikopoulos, and the Mayor of Corfu, Kostas Nikolouzos, gave the welcoming addresses at the seminar.
