Corfu Mayor: Things went smoothly this Easter despite the dissension

CORFU. In a brief review of this year΄s Easter, Kostas Nikolouzos said the following:
"Once again Corfu found itself at the centre of Easter celebrations.
On behalf of the Municipality I would like to thank everyone who participated in the events in whatever way along with the thousands of visitors who came to our island to enjoy the unique experience of Corfu Easter.
Having met with the participating organizations and having witnessed the preparations and the cooperative spirit from all concerned, we are happy to say that events went more smoothly this year and were better organized despite the fact that there was once again some dissension.
I am certain that in the future, if we all work together - organizations and the public - the celebratory events at Easter will be free of the malaise, excesses and unrestrained commercialization which damage the image of the unique Corfu Easter.
