Stefanos Sgouros
Born in the village of Korakiana in 1924, he was inherently a noble person who loved and was proud of his Corfu heritage. He immortalized Corfu nature and architecture in a way that evoked a sense of tranquillity.
Continuing the classic Corfu artists' tradition, he worked with both water paints and oil. He worked continuously creating landscapes, still life, ethographic scenes and portraits.
A restless and creative spirit, he also wrote prose and poetry.
