Police sniffer dog finds another 1.6kg of heroin belonging to drugs gang

CORFU. Police have now confiscated approximately 2.4kg of heroin, a car and a motorbike.

More heroin has been found belonging to members of the criminal organization that were distributing drugs in Corfu. Another 1,597 grams of heroin was confiscated along with precision scales.



Corfu Drugs Squad has added this to the charges already existing against the members of the criminal organization who had been selling heroin in Corfu. On Saturday 24th March there was a police raid and five of the gang’s leading members were arrested – 3 Albanians aged 28, 21 and 51 and 2 Greeks aged 38 and 57.

While the police were continuing their investigation yesterday, Monday 26th, members of the Drugs Squad with the aid of the sniffer dog ‘Vamma’ discovered a container with 1,597 grams of heroin that had been hidden outdoors near Kavos, Lefkimmi. They also found electronic scales.

The total amount of heroin in the criminal organization’s possession that has now been confiscated is 2,402 grams. The initial interrogation has been carried out by the Drugs Squad and they will now be taken to appear before the magistrate.
