CORFU. Traffic regulations for the Easter period.
Mayor Kostas Nikolouzos chaired a meeting today (Friday) to agree on the traffic arrangements for Good Friday and Easter Saturday. The measures agreed upon to help both vehicles and pedestrians are along the same lines as those from last year.
GOOD FRIDAY
From 14:00 traffic will not be allowed from Douglas Column towards NAOK (Corfu Sailing Club) or along the roads coming off Alexandras Ave and leading to the historic centre.
From 18:00 traffic towards Spilia will gradually be stopped as will that in Loh. Vlaikou St. leading to the open-air market (Laiki) from the ticket offices at the New Port.
EASTER SATURDAY
The same measures will be in force during morning and evening events.
PARKING
- Inside the New Port
- At the National Sports Centre (EAK)
- At the High Schools (Lykeia) for permanent residents
- Eth. Antistaseos Rd (Emporiko Kentro, public space)
- The area around the old bus station (KTEL) is being looked at but hasn't been confirmed yet.
There will be free bus transfers from the New Port towards Spilia and from EAK towards the Douglas Column.
