Blockade of Temploni landfill continues – only hospital refuse trucks allowed to enter

CORFU. Following its meeting yesterday evening the Central Corfu Residents Action Committee decided to continue its blockade of Temploni landfill.
Yesterday morning the Corfu Prosecutor Ms Tataki carried out an inspection of the facility accompanied by the Director of Police, Spyros Alamanos.
The Committee representative Christos Ouzounoglou told Enimerosi, “We are going to continue our blockade for the time being. We are of course taking into consideration the conversation we had with Ms Tataki but the residents have decided to continue the occupation.”
When asked whether they would obstruct rubbish trucks from entering the facility, Mr. Ouzounoglou said that only rubbish trucks from the hospital would be allowed to pass.
