PIRAEUS. A slight increase in the number of cruise ship passengers arriving in Greece in 2018 is expected according to information available to the Association of Cruise Ship Owners and Maritime Agencies, said the Association’s president, Theodoros Kontes.
Following the large drop in numbers in 2017 compared to 2016 – 11% fewer passengers and 20.5% fewer cruise ship visits – Mr. Kontes stated, “It is, of course, too soon to give accurate predictions for 2018, but from the early market data available to us, it seems that there won’t be much difference this year.”
He went on to say that the first indications are that there will only be a slight increase in the number of cruise ship arrivals in Greece (1.5 – 2% approx.) and passenger arrivals (3.5 – 4% approx.).
