Meeting about the merger of Ionian University and Ionian Islands Technical Institute

There will be a meeting at the Ministry of Education on Wednesday to discuss ‘The prospects for the Ionian University and Ionian Islands Technical Institute working together’. The dean of the university, the president of the Technical Institute, the Regional Governor and the mayors from Corfu, Lefkada, Cephalonia and Zakynthos will all be present.
On his departure for Athens, Mr. Galiatsatos stated, “The academic community has the main say in the matter but at this early stage I think we can say that consultation between the two educational institutions can lead to an impressive outcome that will benefit all of the Ionian Islands. We are looking forward to the meeting and will listen carefully to the minister’s proposals as well as to the views of the university and technical institute. We will then be able to form our own position on the matter.”
