CORFU.Children aged 4 – 10 are invited to attend a special day with educational and recreational activities at the newly-opened Capodistrias Museum on Saturday 21 October, 12.00-14.00. Admission is free.

In this the opening week of the renovated museum, young friends of the museum will have the opportunity to learn about the life and work of Ioannis Capodistrias (First Governor of modern Greece). They will see the country home of the Capodistrias family and spend time exploring its wonderful garden.
The young visitors will start off in the garden, where they will take part in a creative workshop which connects Capodistrias with….the potato! In this way they will discover another aspect of the Corfiot politician’s life. Following this, the children and their escorts will unravel more of his history with a quick and simple tour of the museum, discovering its various treasures. What is it that makes an everyday object such as a painting, a piece of furniture or even a whole house important? Is it the time that has passed? Is it the skill of the one who created it? Its history?
