Administrative fine of over €3,500 for violating fire protection regulations

CORFU. Intensive inspections by the Fire Service to ensure compliance with preventive measures ahead of the fire season.
Investigating officers of the Corfu Fire Services Department imposed a substantial administrative fine yesterday, Monday, May 4, as part of strict inspections carried out to prevent fires.
A fine of €3,557.81 was imposed on a business owner in the Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands. During the inspection, it was found that the owner had failed to comply with the required fire prevention measures, in violation of Fire Service Regulation No. 9/2024.
The authorities remind all professionals and members of the public of their obligation to fully comply with fire safety regulations, stressing that adherence to preventive measures is crucial for the protection of life, property, and the island’s natural environment. Fire Service inspections will continue with unabated intensity throughout the regional unit.
