Test sounding of warning sirens on October 1st

CORFU. The exercise is being conducted as part of the Parmenion Exercise.

As announced by the Peloponnese, Western Greece, and Ionian Islands Decentralised Administration, the Ministry of Civil Protection PAM-PSEA service has stated that on Wednesday, October 1st, all Civil Defence alarm sirens across the country will sound as part of "Parmenion-25" Exercise, as follows:

  1. 11:00 – Air raid alarm signal, for a duration of 60 seconds (intermittent sound of varying intensity) nationwide.

  2. 11:05 – End-of-alarm signal, for a duration of 60 seconds (continuous steady sound) nationwide.

  3. 11:10 – Air raid alarm signal, for a duration of 60 seconds (intermittent sound of varying intensity) in the Northeastern Sector (Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Regional Units of Lesbos and Limnos).

  4. 11:15 – End-of-alarm signal, for a duration of 60 seconds (continuous steady sound) in the Northeastern Sector.

  5. 11:20 – Air raid alarm signal, for a duration of 60 seconds (intermittent sound of varying intensity) in the Southern Sector (Region of South Aegean, Region of Crete, Regional Units of Arcadia, Messinia, and Laconia).

  6. 11:25 – End-of-alarm signal, for a duration of 60 seconds (continuous steady sound) in the Southern Sector.

  7. 11:30 – Warning alarm for CBRN threat, for a duration of 120 seconds (intermittent sound of varying intensity) nationwide.

  8. 11:35 – End-of-alarm signal, for a duration of 60 seconds (continuous steady sound) nationwide.

  9. 12:20 – Warning alarm for CBRN threat, for a duration of 120 seconds (intermittent sound of varying intensity) in the Western Sector (Regions of Central and Western Macedonia and Epirus).

  10. 12:25 – End-of-alarm signal, for a duration of 60 seconds (continuous steady sound) in the Western Sector.

  11. 12:30 – CBRN attack alarm, for a duration of 120 seconds (intermittent sound of varying intensity) in the Central Sector (Regions of Western Macedonia, Epirus, and Thessaly).

  12. 12:35 – End-of-alarm signal, for a duration of 60 seconds (continuous steady sound) in the Central Sector.

  13. 12:40 – CBRN attack alarm, for a duration of 120 seconds (intermittent sound of varying intensity) in the Region of Attica and the Regional Unit of Thessaloniki.

  14. 12:45 – End-of-alarm signal, for a duration of 60 seconds (continuous steady sound) in the Region of Attica and the Regional Unit of Thessaloniki.

  15. 12:50 – Warning alarm for CBRN threat, for a duration of 120 seconds (intermittent sound of varying intensity) in the Eastern Sector (Regions of Central Greece, Attica, North and South Aegean, and Regional Units of Corinth and Argolis).

  16. 12:55 – End-of-alarm signal, for a duration of 60 seconds (continuous steady sound) in the Eastern Sector.

Simultaneously, church bells throughout the country will ring with a series of short tolls at a rapid pace for a total duration of three minutes.
