Centuries-old procession of Panagia Dimosiana icon in Potamos
CORFU. Following the afternoon procession, there will be a Corfu festival in the courtyard of the Church of the Merciful Virgin, organised by the Potamos 5th Sea Scout Troop.
On Sunday, June 9th, at 7 PM, the centuries-old procession of the icon of Panagia Dimosiana will take place in Potamos. The procession will be led by Archbishop Nektarios, accompanied by members of the clergy of Corfu Metropolitan Church. The procession will be accompanied by the 'Capodistrias' Philharmonic Band, the 'Spyros Samaras' Philharmonic Band, and the 'Old' Philharmonic Band. Also participating will be the Hellenic Scout Association, the Likio Ellinidon, Potamos Cultural Society Choir, and the local Primary School.
On the same day, at 6 AM, a procession will start from Potamos to Temploni, where the miraculous icon of Panagia Dimosiana will be carried on the shoulders of the faithful to the Church of the Hodigitria.
