CORFU. Sinies Cultural and Educational Society is organizing its 21st International Dance Group Festival on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st July.
Friday 20th July - Palace of St. George & St. Michael Colonnade
Saturday 21st July - Sinies Olive Press
21:00 both days
Admission free
The following groups will be participating:
1. Ensemble folk Dance group ARAKS (Armenia)
2. Gero Axular Dantza TALDEA (Spain - Basque Dance)
3. Shanghai Little Star (China)
4. Traditional Dance Group - Heraklion Sports Club
5. Kassiopi Cultural Society
6. Sinies Cultural & Educational Society
7. 'Apollo' Choir - Sinies Cultural & Educational Society
Programme
Friday 20th July - The dance groups will visit the Town Hall to meet the Mayor for an exchange of gifts. The Mayor will welcome them to the island and the groups will then parade through the streets of Corfu Town, ending up at the Palace Colonnade for the start of the Festival.
Saturday 21st July - Sinies Olive Press. The event is under the aegis of the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals (CIOFF) and the Club for Unesco Art- Literature and Science of Greece. It has the support of the Ionian Islands Regional Administration, Corfu Municipality, Corfu Chamber of Commerce, Corfu Federation of Tourist Accommodation Owners and Corfu Port Authority.
The Society gives warm thanks to the media sponsors - ERT 3, CorfuTV, CorfuLand , ERT Corfu, PopFM , Kima FM, Enimerosi, Kerkyra Simera, To Karfi as well as to Corfu businesses (local and non) for their donations and sponsorship and the tireless Society volunteers.
The event is dedicated to Save Erimitis.
