Fires in Agios Ioannis and Halikiopoulos Lagoon

The Fire Service was called out to two fires at the same time.
CORFU. According to the Fire Service two fires broke out on Wednesday afternoon at 16:45. One in Agios Ioannis, near the Roma community, and one in the reeds of Halikiopoulos Lagoon.
Four fire engines with ten firefighters along with 2 PZL firefighting planes rushed immediately in both location and were able to put out the fires in less than an hour.
According to the Fire Service, both fires have been almost extinguished. However, firefighters are remaining on standby so as to deal immediately with any new fire breakouts.
