CORFU. The funding is for inside the building itself as well as the garden and surrounding area.
Funding of 10m Euros is to be provided for the complete 'makeover' of the Achilleion Palace according to the announcement from Mayor Meropi Ydraiou at the Central Corfu & Diapontia Islands Municipal Council meeting on Wednesday 8 July.
Ms. Ydraiou said that funding for Corfu's iconic museum, which is in need of important maintenance and improvement works, has been confirmed.
According to the Mayor, the funding will cover necessary work in the building itself as well as the garden and surrounding area.
She said that the Achilleion Palace will be the first place that Kyriakos Mitsotakis visits when the Greek PM comes to Corfu on Saturday.
