LEFKADA. A 20-year-old foreign national was arrested on Wednesday 29 January for the illegal trafficking of foreign nationals.
The 20-year-old was caught in a police operation that had been set up specially. He was transporting four foreign nationals aged 22,26, 43 and 47 in a car with the intention of their leaving the country illegally and travelling to Italy.
The police confiscated the car, fake travel documents, a small amount of unprocessed cannabis and a mobile phone.
Lefkimmi police conducted an interrogation before taking the man and the other four foreign nationals to appear before the Lefkada Prosecutor.
