Corfu top of the list in Greece for tax evasion

CORFU. One in three businesses in Greece evade taxes according to last year΄s data from the Public Revenue Authority (AADE).
According to last year's data, one in three businesses in Greece are involved in tax evasion.
80,000 inspections were carried out and 25,000 cases of tax evasion were found with 56,000 violations. The largest percentage was in Corfu with 56.9%, followed by Chios with 38.9% and Imathia and Larissa, both with 36.5%.
The top sector was Tourist Boat Rental with 80%, followed by Taxis with 74%, Clothes & Footwear Wholesalers with 70% and Car Repair Shops with 66%.
