CORFU. The Byzantine Choir, with the blessings of the Holy Metropolis and in cooperation with the Ionian Islands Regional Administration, is organizing the 7th Corfu Festival of Church Choir Music on Sunday, 11th March (Veneration of the Holy Cross - Stravroproskinisi) at 18:00 at the Holy Church of Agios Georgios, Old Fortress.
8 church choirs will participate in the Festival and the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful richness of the Greek ecclesiastical musical tradition over the centuries - Byzantine Music, local Corfu Chanting and European polyphony. A celebration of our musical culture and the origins of our musical tradition, at the core of which is ecclesiastical music and the art of chanting.
