24-year-old arrested in Lefkimmi with 50g heroin

CORFU. The Regional Drug Squad and Corfu Port Authority arrested a 24-year-old man on Thursday afternoon for possession of narcotics.
Following up on information received, checks were carried out on unaccompanied packages on a coach from Thessaloniki arriving with the ferry on Wednesday afternoon.
The unaccompanied package they discovered was allowed to be sent by bus to Melikia, Lefkimmi on Thursday morning and the 24-year-old who came to pick it up was detained and arrested.
The package contained two plastic packages with 51.9g heroin, a bottle of liquid methadone, 1 Hipnosedon pill and 1 Lexotanil pill. A search was then carried out at the house of the arrested man along with the K9 team and the following were found:
- 2 Hipnosedon pills
- 12 Centrac pills
- 2 Suboxone
The local port authority, which is carrying out the interrogation, also confiscated a mobile phone.
