CORFU. Ionian Islands Regional Governor signed approval for the programme which will run until 30/6/22.
Regional Governor Theodoros Galiatsatos approved the inclusion of 'Development of International Corfu 'Town Festivals'' in the Ionian Islands Business Programme.
The project, with a budget of 1,225,600 Euros, involves the organization of international cultural events in Corfu Town including current and new events and activities covering the full range of modern cultural activities (performance art, art, music, literature and poetry, gastronomy, audiovisual arts).
The festival events are divided into six Thematic Cultural Categories and will take place on an annual basis. The organization, with coordinated operational and technical support, will be handled by local cultural bodies and will be supported by the Business Programme for the first three years.
Co-funding through the Business Programme will cover the following:
- Artistic Direction and Maketing services
- Creation of a digital promotion platform
- Provision of specialised equipment
- Publicity services and event production/organization.
The Municipality will have the responsibility for the creation and operation supported by the Urban Authority.
