19 million Euros for Corfu roads

CORFU. Deputy Regional Governor for Corfu Nikoletta Pandi made the announcement at Wednesday afternoon΄s Regional Council meeting.
The Ionian Islands region will receive another 33.9 million Euros from the Public Investments Programme following a decision by the Ministry of Economy and Development. 25.1m of this will be made available by the Regional Administration for work on the region's road network.
At Wednesday afternoon's Regional Council meeting Deputy Regional Governor for Corfu Nikoletta Pandi announced that 19m Euros was to be made available for Corfu. She said that this figure is based on the actual and specific needs of the island's road network as outlined in the report produced by the Regional Department in Corfu, which was submitted to the Ministry.
From the total (33.9m) 5 million will go to regional anti-flooding works and 350,000 for the tourist promotion of the Ionian Islands. As had already been announced, 3.5m will go to the Ionian Islands Region Public Investment Programme for the project 'Repair to Ag. Nikita-Kalamitsi road from the landslide area to the Exanthia-Hortata crossroads' in Lefkada.
