Number of arrivals at Ionian Islands airports continues to increase

CORFU. Tourism in the Ionian Islands is doing well according to the latest statistics.
According to statistics from Fraport, August airport arrivals - both international and domestic - increased compared to the same period last year.
International arrivals at Corfu increased by 11.7%, Aktion 0.7%, Cephalonia 11.2% and Zakynthos 5%.
Domestic arrivals and departures at Corfu increased by 20.6%, Aktion decreased by 16.8%, Cephalonia increased by 11.2% and Zakynthos increased by 12.6%.
The total number of international arrivals from the beginning of the tourist season up to 31 August showed an increase of 13.5% compared to the same period last year.
In his press release the Deputy Regional Governor for Tourism Spyros Galiatsatos says, "This confirms the forecast of the Ionian Islands Regional Administration that there will be a two-digit increase in international arrivals in 2018."
