Serbian schoolchildren sing Tamo Daleko at Corfu Old Town Hall!

CORFU. Serbian, Montenegrin and Bosnian schoolchildren who are on holiday in Corfu visited the Corfu Mayor Kostas Nikolouzos at the Old Town Hall yesterday.
The 60 top pupils, aged 12 - 17, are staying at a private summer camp in Corfu with their expenses paid by the Serbian Patriarch.
The children were accompanied the Patriarchate press representative Dimitri Stikic.
The Mayor talked about the ties of friendship between Corfu and Serbia and stressed that Corfu Municipality was doing everything it could to strengthen these.
Mr. Stikic said that this was the seventh year that Serbian were visiting Corfu, where they always receive a warm welcome - an indication that Corfu does indeed keep the ties with Serbia alive. "This love lives in the souls of our children," he said.
The pupils sang Greek and Serbian songs including the traditional song from the 1st World War Tamo Daleko (There, far away). They also told the Mayor of their activities in Corfu to gain a better understanding of its history.
