Corfu Medical Association meets with the Mayor about the refuse

Mr. Nikolouzos presented the whole situation - from the interim period to the integrated waste management plan, the costs, the different stages and the procedural difficulties. The doctors reiterated the dangers to public health due to the small rubbish dumps at several points along the main road network and other areas throughout the island.

They also called attention to the working conditions at Temploni landfill and the Recycling Sorting Centre (KDAY), which are unacceptable. This is the responsibility of the contractor but objectively, health conditions are also the responsibility of the Solid Waste Management Association (SYDISA).
