Beach clean-up in Vidos: Lesson in volunteerism from youngsters

CORFU. 24 teenagers from various schools and states in America in collaboration with the 5th Sea Scouts Group from Potamos cleaned and tidied up Maestros Beach on Vidos Island on Saturday morning.
They worked together with 'All Together for Corfu' - a group that gets involved in and supports environmental efforts whilst raising the awarenes of mainly young people.
Spyros Nerantzis from 'All Together' said: "There are two things that indicate how successful an activity has been. The first is the enthusiasm, the satisfaction and the smiles on the faces of those who took part - especially at the end. The second is the achievement of the objective - cleaning up the Maestros Beach and making it accessible to all.
We are happy that through these kind of activities we can contribute to a cultural exchange and making new friends. The pictures fill us with happiness and raise the bar. We would like to thank you all for your support and participation."
