No water and electricity in Kompitsi last Saturday

CORFU. The village of Kompitsi was without water and electricity from early Saturday morning. The situation, which lasted all day, naturally caused the displeasure of the residents and led to innumerable complaints. Enimerosi spoke with the responsible services to find out what happened.
The cause of the power cut was a large tree which, due to the recent strong winds, had fallen on the cables and severed them from the pole.
The DEDDIE repair crew managed to fix the damage after several hours, along with assistance from the Fire Service, who removed and cut up the tree.
The problem with the water supply was caused by a burnt out fuse.
According to DEDDIE, DEYAK (the water company) didn’t let them know immediately about the fault and for that reason there was a long delay before the water supply could return to normal.
Residents said that they were without water until Monday morning.
