CORFU. The Corfu high jumper, Panayiota Dosi, who won a gold medal in the Balkan Under-20 Indoor Championships in Sofia last Saturday, has been chosen to represent Greece at the Balkan Indoor athletics meeting for men and women in Istanbul this weekend.
Although she is just 17 years old, Panayiota is one of the top athletes in the country and looks to have a bright future. In Istanbul she will try to break the Greek indoor record. She has jumped 1.81m this year and at an outdoor meeting in Kifissia, Athens last year she jumped 1.83m.
Panayiota is trained by her father, who accompanied her to the meeting in Sofia last weekend.
