Diving Tourism event in Kefalonia

ARGOSTOLI. From 25 to 30 October Kefalonia will host an event to promote Diving Tourism which is being organized by the Region of the Ionian Islands, the Hellenic National Tourism Organization (EOT)
and the company Scuba Hellas. Taking part will be ten journalists from Britain, Germany and Poland who write about diving and have a particular interest in shipwrecks from World War 2 in the area.
There will be a diving event in Skala, Kefalonia plus special dives with WWII warships as a background. The event will also include trips to Ithaki Island, the Melissani cave and winery visits. There will be presentations on diving tourism in Kefallonia in particular as well as on the infrastructure and diving opportunities in Greece in general.
The Deputy Governor of the Region of Ionian Islands responsible for Tourism, Spyros Galiatsatos, stated that the Regional Administration supported every effort to promote and develop diving tourism in the Ionian Islands, which they consider to be of prime importance historically, culturally and financially.
