14th KORISSOS Sand Race – Entries open

14th KORISSOS Sand Run: Running for the environment, nature, our local heritage and the protection of public property!

After 14 years of shared commitment, the KORISSOS Environmental, Cultural and Sports Association is once again joining forces with dozens of organisations across the island to co-organise the established summer sporting and environmental event.

The Race Routes

14 km OPEN: For men and women.

7 km: With age categories for men and women.

1,200 m: For primary school pupils (boys and girls), divided into two age categories.

The co-organisers are the Ionian Islands Regional Authority, the Municipality of South Corfu, the Corfu Veterans Athletics Association “Victor”, the Corfu Association of Physical Education Teachers, the Corfu Gymnastics Club, the Corfu branch of ESYN, the Athletics Club “Laodamas”, the Parents and Friends Association “DIAPLUS”, the Corfu SEGAS Local Committee, as well as dozens of other organisations from the fields of culture, sport, education and health.

This race is a collective expression of love for our environment. Its aim is to raise awareness about protecting the unique ecosystem of Issos – Lake Halikounas – Laoudia.

At the same time, it highlights the historical heritage of our area and sends a powerful message of life against addiction. We look forward to welcoming everyone on the sand to support nature, health and culture.
