CORFU. The 22 October entry in the National Council for Radio and Television register signals new developments — Announcements on the new ownership and its plans are still pending.

Although the transfer of ownership of Start TV has yet to be completed, the application to resume broadcasting, registered with the National Council for Radio and Television (ESR) on 22 October, signals a change in the situation facing the television station. This followed the notification, on 9 October, that the station had ceased operations.

Information about the transaction has been confirmed, although the stage it has reached does not yet allow for further announcements. Corfu is a small place, however, and news travels fast.

Enimerosi will return to the story when official announcements are made, clarifying the composition of the new ownership and, above all, its intentions for the channel’s operation and identity.

What the ESR records show

Until then, Start TV’s public record on the ESR website sets out the following sequence of events:

  • 9 October 2026: Notification that the station was ceasing operations is registered under protocol number 5840.

  • 12 October: Digea informs the ESR that it is terminating its cooperation with the station, under protocol number 5860.

  • 16 October: A related letter from Digea concerning termination of the contract is recorded under protocol number 5953.

  • 22 October: An application to resume broadcasting is submitted under protocol number 6066/22.10.2026.

The same record classifies Start TV as a regional news broadcaster using terrestrial digital transmission, while the general operating status field continues to display “Operating”. This status appears alongside the entries listed above and does not, in itself, demonstrate that the station has resumed broadcasting. Nor does the registration of the application constitute a decision approving the resumption of operations.
