Fare increase for Urban KTEL buses starting Friday 20/03 – What happens to old tickets
CORFU. The price of monthly unlimited-ride passes will remain unchanged, and the special ticket package offers (buy 10, get 1 free) will continue.
KTEL ticket prices are set to rise across Greece, including Corfu’s urban transport, starting 20/3/2026, following a Ministerial Decision.
The new fares will be as follows:
ZONE A
Normal - €1.30
Pupils/children from large families - €0.80
Students - €0.80
ZONE B
Normal - €1.80
Pupils/children from large families - €1.00
Students - €1.00
The above increase in fare prices aims to cover part of the significant rises in key cost factors for our transport operations, such as labour costs, the cost of spare parts and maintenance, and especially fuel costs, which have surged recently due to the war in the Middle East, with prices exceeding €1.80 per litre—an increase of €0.50 per litre.
It should also be noted that since 2010, this is only the second fare increase in 16 years of a stable pricing policy, with our company absorbing all other costs during this period.
We wish that a fare increase were not necessary and that the State could cover the rising operating costs, as we have never intended to burden family budgets. At the same time, however, we must ensure and continue to provide safe and reliable services to the public so that urban buses remain the most popular means of transport.
It should be noted that the price of monthly unlimited-ride passes will not increase, and the ticket package offers (buy 10, get 1 free) will continue.
Tickets purchased at the previous price will remain valid for six months, until 20/9/2026.

President of Corfu Urban KTEL
