3rd High School pupils visit Corfu Orphanage
CORFU. The pupils were accompanied by teachers Alexandra Balafa and Fotini Hondroyianni.
In the true spirit of Christmas, a heartfelt and meaningful activity was carried out by the Junior Ambassadors, candidate Ambassadors and Volunteers, together with pupils from 3rd High School. Guided by empathy and a desire to give, the pupils visited the Corfu Orphanage to offer gifts to the fifteen children living there.
Following communication with the head of the Orphanage, Mrs. Andrioti, the pupis organised the selection of gifts suited to each child’s age and gender, collected them, and lovingly wrapped them.
The generosity shown by the pupils and their parents was truly moving and surpassed all expectations. The visit took place on Thursday, December 18. The pupils learned about the history and daily operation of the Orphanage from Mrs. Andrioti and Mrs. Kantareli, showed genuine interest in the children’s lives, and eagerly expressed their wish to contribute as volunteers.
Through this experience, they came to understand that not all children have access to things we often take for granted. We sincerely thank the staff of the Orphanage and deeply admire the important and demanding work they do every day.
